MCCNY Pastoral Team & Staff

Rev. Pat Bumgardner, Senior Pastor Rev. Pat has been the pastor of MCC New York  for 19 years.  A well-known advocate for social justice, Rev. Pat has led MCC New York in its mission to serve the community.  MCCNY has been listed as one of New York City's "50 best places to renew your spirit" thanks to the development of preaching and music ministries under Rev. Pat.

Rev. Edgard Danielse-Morales, Assistant Pastor for Congregational Life.
Rev. Edgard was installed at MCCNY on 15 May 2005. A scholar, activist and excellent preacher, he brings a range of gifts sure to continue the growth and development of MCCNY's expanding ministry and outreach.

 

Rev. Jen/Miller Hoffman

Rev. Jen/Miller Hoffman graduated with distinction from union Theological Seminary. Miller is currenly working on establishing a new MCC in Binghamton, New York, with MCCNY serving as home base.

Rev. Michael Hydes came to us from the North London congregation (pastored by our own Rev. Pressley who followed his call across the Atlantic).  Michael currently serves as MCCNY's video editor, while pastoring New Light Metropolitan Community Church in Hagerstown, MD.

Boon Lin Ngeo, recently accepted to the Master of Divinity program at Episcopal
Divinity School, has entered Formation at MCCNY.  Boon's dream is to bring MCC to Malaysia, where he recently published the first book on Queer people and spirituality entitled, "God Loves Gays."  The sequel, due out this fall, will be entitled, "Gays Love God", and recount the stories of many well-known Queer Christians, including The Rev.
Troy Perry.

Musical Staff

 John Fischer, John has taken our choir to new heights, new ground, and new spirit.  With John at the helm, the pews are jumping every Sunday, with a wide repertoire from classic hymns to gospel.  John is accompanist for the 9 AM Liturgy and directs choirs for the 11 AM and 7 PM Services.
 

 

David Raleigh well-known in New York City's hottest spots of entertainment, is MCCNY's Sunday 11 AM accompanist.  His brilliance, matched only by his openness to the Spirit, have in no small part contributed to the growth of our 11am Celebration.
 
Wan-Chuan Kao serves as MCCNY's Sunday evening accompanist, and is known for his prolific talents on both the piano and organ.  Often requested for weddings and other special celebrations, Wan-Chuan is a vital part of MCCNY's outreach into the wider Queer community.
