Metropolitan Community Church of New York, like MCCs around the globe, has a bold vision of social justice that seeks to transform hearts, lives, and history. We are called to "Do justice, show kindness, and live humbly with God," (Micah 6:8). For us, working for social justice in the world is central to our community of faith. We are an international movement of Christian Churches, reaching in and beyond the lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer, and heterosexual communities, that has preached a three-pronged Gospel of salvation, community and social justice for 40 years.

For 40 years, MCC has worked to make real a world of justice and equality and celebrates more than 6,000 same-sex and opposite-sex weddings around the globe every year. For more about what MCC believes and is working toward in the fight for marriage equality, go here. Here, at MCCNY we have been actively involved in the efforts in New York State to obtain marriage equality. For more about marriage equality in New York, go here.

MCCNY is also engaged in the global struggle for basic human rights and social justice for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgendered people throughout the world. While our vision is global, our action is often local. Here in New York, it is common to see people from MCCNY on the front lines of protests against police brutality and war.

Finally, we at MCCNY use our resources to work in partnership with other progressive communities, both secular and religious, to speak out against all voices that seek to demonize homosexuality and are opposed to equal rights and full equality for same-gender couples.

Please join us at MCCNY, and get involved in changing your world!
