Recycling & The Environment

MCCNY is working actively to reduce our impact on the environment through a variety of programs. Our current efforts include "Can Do," in which we collect refundable bottles and cans and use the deposits for the Music Ministry.

We have recycling collection areas in our Food Pantry & Shelter, as well as in our Church Office. We use recycled paper to print our weekly church bulletins and then reuse the bulletins following services.

We are excited to be further increasing these efforts through the formation of a Green Team formed of environmentally-conscious MCCNYers. We will soon be sending environmental tips through our e-news blast along with other important happenings at MCCNY.

We are also teaming up with Funding Factory to implement a recycling fundraising program in which we are collecting used cell phones, printer cartridges and laser ink cartridges which we will send in and get money for the Sylvia Rivera Food Pantry.
